About Us

It all started in mid 2009.

Aanal’s life was settling down as her little angel was getting settled in his new world.  She wanted to get back to work and wanted to re-ignite her passion for dance and teaching dance.

She posted a little ad online and one thing led to another and she had her first student Vanita who wanted to learn Bollywood dance.  Meanwhile, Aanal also volunteered to teach at the Ida Lee Recreational Center where she taught Bollywood dancing for 3 seasons.

Through the word of mouth of her students (for which she is always very grateful), she got more students and started teaching dance at a studio in Ashburn and another one in Leesburg.

Meanwhile, she developed a high-impact, fun exercise routine called Bollywood Dancercise that she taught at Lansdowne and Ashburn.

Until then, she didn’t have a name for her dance classes.  In early 2011, she did a poll of a few shortlisted names with her students and the majority voted for Studio Dhoom.  So that’s how Studio Dhoom was born.
